It all began with one man’s dream to start an electrical company in April of 1984. Larry Sona’s desire was to provide outstanding electrical services to the Lowcountry area and build a company legacy to pass down to future generations. In April 2024, Larry’s dream was completed when his youngest son, Matt Sona, stepped in to take over the company.

Matt started working for ESI in 2005 as a helper and worked his way up in the company while attending Trident Technical College. He graduated from Trident Technical College with an Associate in Arts, Associate in Occupational Technology, and Electrician: Automated Controls, Construction, and Industrial certificates. He is also a licensed Master Electrician.
